Assoc. Professor - Civil Engineering teaches courses in the discipline area of civil engineering. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Civil Engineering provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Civil Engineering typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks.     Full-Time Probationary Fall 2024

    Minimum Qualifications:
    BS in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from and accredited University. Two years of previous teaching experience in the field of engineering or engineering technology.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience teaching online, hybrid, or in person classes. MS in a related field.

    DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
    •    Provide classroom instruction in Civil Engineering lab and lecture rooms.
    •    Evaluate student performance and complete assessments as required by the College.
    •    Collaborate with colleagues on course and program development as well as transfer course review.
    •    Participate in departmental, division wide, and/or college wide committees.
    •    At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract.

    The Salary for this position is $48,981.00. This is a 10-month position (151 workdays). In addition to the
    baseline salary, there is the potential for additional compensation through voluntary overload teaching.
