Job Summary:
The Communications Specialist is the coordinator of corporate communications, both internal and external. This individual is responsible for maintaining a positive company image in compliance with branding and company fundamentals by providing prompt service and sharing appropriate information in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provides ownership of the company’s marketing initiatives.
· Updates company’s social media accounts regularly and coordinates postings with other company communication activities.
· Collaborates with other team members to fully understand product and communication needs.
· Gathers the materials necessary to understand the project and competition in the area such as literature or previous marketing campaigns; analyzes these materials to determine the most effective communications technique.
· Creates consistent themes, messaging, and branding in all communication touch points, including advertising and social media.
· Presents design ideas and recommendations to the team.
· Creates and coordinates multimedia packages.
· Attends trade shows and community fairs and staffs the company booth.
· Organizes and helps plan company events.
· Creates and designs the company’s internal newsletter.
· Maintains promotional items.
· Composes letters and oversees direct mail programs.
· Performs other administrative duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
· Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Cloud, and various social media applications.
· Ability to perform a variety of assigned duties in occasionally highly interruptive conditions.
· Ability to maintain visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Ability to perform assigned job duties under time pressure.
· Ability to draft, proof, correct, and improve written documents.
· Effective interpersonal skills required.
Education and Experience:
· Associate's degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
· BS degree in business administration preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Performs all duties in a well-ventilated, well-lit, and temperature-controlled office environment.
May require some travel.
