    Job Description:

    GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES – The Chief of Surgery Services, a registered professional healthcare leader, assumes full accountability for the 24-hour operations of Surgical Services. This pivotal role involves directing staff selection and executing the service structure, while maintaining a patient-centric culture within the organization. Responsibilities encompass a range of facets within the patient care environment, focusing on upholding clinical standards of care and ensuring adequate staffing resources to deliver top-quality patient care. Furthermore, active participation in committees, workgroups, and meetings is vital, with organizational leadership directed towards aligning services with the Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan.

    SUPERVISOR – Chief Nursing Officer

    SUPERVISES – Surgical services personnel

    DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    Upholding safe practices, adhering to safety regulations, and demonstrating competence in safety policies.

    Implementing an effective budgeting process to promote sound fiscal operation for the designated service line.

    Ensuring effective leadership and management of human resources within the defined service line.

    Compliance with laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.

    Promoting positive clinical outcomes through effective supervision and care evaluation.

    Fostering a non-discriminatory climate, ethical clinical practice, and conflict resolution.

    Developing and enforcing policies, procedures, and standards of care.

    Ensuring customer satisfaction and facilitating strategic service line development.

    Continuously seeking professional development and improvement.

    Representing the organization in the community and region.

    Additional responsibilities as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    Proficient in the care and management of patient populations served.

    Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal relation skills.

    Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, making well-informed decisions.

    Minimum of an associate's degree in healthcare leadership, with a preference for a baccalaureate degree.

    5 years of experience in related healthcare practice, with a preferred 2 years in a leadership role.

    Holds a current healthcare license in the region of responsibility.

    Possession of relevant certifications and licenses.
