    We are looking for Electrical Engineering Technologists who want to work in a multi-disciplinary team that plays a key role in supporting national defense. The Engineering Technologists hired into this role are responsible for supporting the engineering teams in operating the electro-mechanical systems that provide conditions simulating operational environments and enable ground testing of air and space vehicles. The people in these positions will help create and implement necessary documents to communicate within and across teams with guidance from the engineering and supervisory staff.
     
    Engineering Technologists provide assistance to the engineering teams for safe and reliable operation of test and plant equipment and systems. This work involves practical application of engineering principles of electrical equipment sizing, troubleshooting, circuit protection and arc flash analysis of low and medium voltage equipment. These principles are applied through the use of engineering tools including generating risk assessments, work instructions, and other engineering documentation in support of testing.
     
    As part of a multi-disciplinary team, Engineering Technologists interface with other teams across the complex including controls, instrumentation, design, electrical engineers to ensure reliable operation and ability to meet future test needs.
     
    Engineering Technologists will support systems engineering, base operations, plant operations, and test operations engineering process. The jobs support system engineer responsibilities as part of a cadre of mechanical and electrical engineers whose job it is to oversee installation, operation, sustainment, and troubleshooting of major equipment and systems such as large motors, compressors, electrical switchgear, over-current protection, transformers, PLCs, relays, and/or solid state variable frequency systems that are needed to reliably provide test conditions to the test facilities.
     
    Basic Qualifications:
    · BS degree in electrical engineering technology from an accredited college or university.

    his posting is specifically for those with an electrical engineering technology degree with less than 5 years of engineering experience.

    · Current United States Citizenship is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    · Highly preferred: Educational concentration and/or work experience in low, medium, or high voltage power distribution.
    · Educational and/or work experience in dealing with electrical systems or electrical components of mechanical systems.
    • Technical knowledge of engineering systems, applications of engineering methods, and application of computer aided engineering (CAE)/computer aided design (CAD) tools to engineering problems.
    • Working knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to the electrical engineering discipline.
    • Willingness to learn other engineering disciplines
    • Ability to perform in a highly dynamic work environment with flexibility to accomplish mission needs
    • Must be able to communicate clearly and use various methods of communication
    • Active Secret Security Clearance
      
    This opportunity is being offered by National Aerospace Solutions, the team selected by the U.S. Air Force to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee.  National Aerospace Solutions is a limited liability company comprised of Bechtel National Inc. (as lead company) and Sierra Lobo Inc. with teaming Subcontractors nLogic Inc. and Chugach Federal Solutions Inc. AEDC operates more than 55 aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, rocket and turbine engine test cells, space environmental chambers, arc heaters, ballistic ranges and other specialized units located in six states. Many of the complex's test units have capabilities unmatched elsewhere in the United States; some are unique in the world. AEDC is one of three installations which are part of the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), one of six subordinate commands of the Air Force Materiel Command organization and an important national resource.

    AEDC’s mission is to conduct developmental test and evaluation for the Nation through modeling, simulation, ground, and flight test.  Execution of the mission requires a large team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals from multiple technical disciplines to effectively accomplish the objectives of our test customers.
