Project Environmental Scientist

  • You’ve dedicated the last several years applying your academic underpinnings in environmental science or geology, working knowledge of environmental regulations, savvy in field techniques, and ability to work with managers and clients to assess, investigate, and remediate a multitude of property types. You embrace applying your analytical skills and critical thinking to develop a conceptual site model that accurately reflects the environmental image of a property, and possess the technical acumen to view a property through a regulatory lens, all while understanding your client’s goals.     Eolas Environmental, LLC is seeking a mid-level geologist/engineer/environmental scientist with 5 years of relevant site assessment, investigation, remediation, and building materials assessment experience to join our team. As part of our team, you’ll work on a variety of site investigation and remediation projects, UST closures, due diligence assessments, EHS compliance and permitting projects, and hazardous building materials (HBM) surveys in New England and in New York.

    More specifically, here's the type of work you may do when you join our team:

    · Phase I Environmental Site Assessments - site inspections, regulatory and file reviews, report development.

    · Phase II/III Subsurface Investigations - coordinating and supervising subcontractors; health and safety planning and implementation; field work (e.g. environmental media sampling, well installation oversight, logging of borings); data management, manipulation, and analysis; and technical report development.

    · Remediation Planning and Implementation - Remedial Action Plan development, permit preparation, field supervision and environmental media sampling, field implementation of health and safety; and technical report development.

    · Pre-Demolition Hazardous Building Materials Assessments – sampling of building materials, data management, and technical report development.

    · Groundwater, stormwater, and waste characterization sampling.

    · Regulatory Permitting and Transfer Act Filing Support - Research and preparation of environmental permits and Connecticut Transfer Act filings.

    · A valid driver’s license and good driving record.

    · 5 years of related environmental consulting experience (e.g. ESAs, investigations, remediation planning and oversight, understanding of CT and NY remediation programs, HBM surveys).

    · CT and MA Asbestos Inspector and Lead Inspector licensing desired.

    · OSHA HAZWOPER training.

    · Project Manager/LEP track desired.

    · Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline; advanced degree desired.
