Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) NASA Environmental Test Facilities (ETF)
Environmental Test Facilities are used to simulate the extreme environments that hardware is expected to withstand during operations. The ETF provides these environments using 27 chambers capable of high vacuums, extreme temperatures and humidity, and high-altitude conditions. Additionally, the ETF can perform vacuum bakeout and launch and re-entry testing. Feed throughs in chamber walls provide electrical, mechanical, and fluid connections to the test article.
Job Description/Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary role will be to support NASA - Marshall Space Flight Center’s Environmental Test Facility and contractor personnel in support of NASA research and development, configuration and maintenance of test systems and testing infrastructure. Duties include, but are not limited to performing routine maintenance, installation, and integration of various types of mechanical and instrumentation components such as strain gauges, pressure transducers, cryogen systems, thermocouples, tubing, etc. The candidate will interface directly with MSFC customers, technicians, and other test team members. The candidate will receive direction from the Department Manager or Team Lead and must be able to work from written and verbal instructions. The candidate will perform other duties as required to fulfill the mission of the MSFC Environmental Test Facility.
