Our site near Culpeper, VA, in beautiful, rural Orange County (1.5 hours from Washington, DC) is growing! This site is our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs.
We are seeking an AssocManager, Manufacturing Engineer to join the team at our Culpeper, VA site.
Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, this position will focus on Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Defense Production Act (DPA) Title III efforts to accelerate site development and, program optimization and transition to support business growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The successful individual will be responsible for technical and administrative leadership of the OSD/DPA Title III program and team within the larger Manufacturing Engineering/Operations group. Scope includes both inert and energetic operations.
45% - Provides OSD Title III program direction, control, and coordination. Responsible for management and contract performance of the program and all associated elements. Develops and maintains an understanding of program scope. Manages the program schedules and budgets in accordance with applicable contractual and Aerojet Rocketdyne policies. Provides guidance and assistance to project team in meeting established schedules and budgets, and resolution of problems.
30% - Responsible for communicating, engaging, and effectively utilizing functional organizations to integrate production, quality assurance, test, production support, procurement, contractual and financial data. Assures, through the assigned program team, that contract performance responsibility is properly delegated to performing organizations and suppliers.
25% - Acts as primary interface for communications with internal and external customers, including senior leadership and US Government entities. Establishes and maintains program and operations metrics. Prepares reports, presentations, and documentation to support OSD/DPA initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and at least six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
