  • The University of Virginia (UVA) Department of Public Health Sciences (PHS) is seeks a senior biostatistician in clinical trials at an Associate/Full Professor level, for the UVA Cancer Center Biostatistics Shared Resource (BSR), along with conducting other research within PHS. The candidate will develop and lead a multidisciplinary research program along with developing collaborations in support of the mission of the Cancer Center. The successful candidate must have strong training and research in early phase clinical trials and applied translational statistics. The candidate will be expected to contribute to Cancer Center growth through research, scholarship and mentoring. Additionally, they will have administrative, teaching and service responsibilities, and be expected to participate in appropriate national and international organizations. The UVA Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designate Comprehensive Cancer Center; the only cancer center with this recognition in Virginia. Its mission is to reduce the burden of cancer for the patients of today, through skilled, integrated, and compassionate care and to eliminate the threat of cancer for the patients of tomorrow, through research and education in an environment that promotes diversity and equity. The Cancer Center has over 200 faculty members from 25 departments within the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Engineering, Education, Data Science, and the College of Arts and Sciences, with more than $75 million dollars in funded research annually.
