Assoc. Professor - Law jobs in Jacksonville, FL

We are a solo practice law firm located on the westside of Jacksonville seeking a skilled paralegal to be a part of our team. We handle a few different areas of law, but the majority of our caseload is with probate/estate planning and family law.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Attention to detail
• Legal research and investigation skills
• Ability to follow direction and procedures
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to prioritize workload and assignments
• Must be HIGHLY skilled with grammer, punctuation, letter and legal pleading drafting/editing

Education/Experience:

• Must have atleast 10 years of significant and substantive experience as a paralegal/legal assistant in Family Law.
• Experience drafting and correcting legal pleadings (a plus if you know how to do trial and appellate work).
• Experience managing medium to large-scale document productions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other word processing software

Work Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm

• Office is integrating to a new case management software system, although currently our case files are all manually handled
• Attention to detail is key as our processes are still manual
• Must have the ability to work alone and make basic decisions, however know when to reach out and ask questions *before* performing the task(s)
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be a reliable person when it comes to attendance and punctuality
• Must be able to be pleasant and understanding even when a client can be challenging
• Must be open change and processes and also can be creative with input
• Can think independently but work well as a team member
• Must be able to prioritize tasks and case management, however be able to provide assistance or offer suggestions to others
• **Pay is commensurate with experience and skill set- willing to be negotiable**

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
