Assoc. Professor - Legal Support teaches courses in the discipline area of legal services. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Legal Support provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Legal Support typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Providing legal representation to clients in civil matters such as family, housing, consumer, income maintenance and other civil matters;
Other responsibilities include but not limited to reviewing and supervising work product of support staff, circuit riding when required;
Graduate of an accredited law school;
Have demonstrable interest in the area of poverty law and working with low income persons;
Perform other related tasks as required. Be admitted to practice law in the State of Mississippi.
