Assoc. Professor - Liberal Arts teaches courses in the discipline area of liberal arts. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Liberal Arts provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Liberal Arts typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks.     We are expanding again and looking for an experienced, energetic, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Martial Arts Instructor to join our team of rockstars at 1UP Martial Arts.

    This role will be based in-studio and plays an integral part of our team.
    Our instructors lead classes of varying ages and experience through 45 minute martial arts sessions that include physical fitness, martial arts techniques, and life skills based curriculum.

    As a 1UP instructor, you will run group training sessions and build a community that keeps our members wanting to come back every day!

    The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about working with kids and changing lives. They are outgoing, motivated, have great communication skills and are capable of delivering a high standard of customer service.

    Compensation & Benefits!

    • 20-30 Hours per Week (Part time with ability to move to full time)
    • $15.00-$19.00 per Hour based on Experience

    Job Duties Include:

    • Deliver pre-designed classes to groups with various ages (3-12 years old)
    • Energize and motivate students throughout the session to become the best versions of themselves
    • Help build 1UP's attendance and retain current clientele
    • Member outreach (postcards, phone calls, video messages, audio messages, etc)
    • Ensure the safety of all students in regards to technique, spacing, and pairing up of students by size and ability.
    • Modify specific techniques or exercises to accommodate different levels of skills and pre-existing conditions (I.E: someone hurt their knee so they need an alternate exercises instead of high knees)
    • Attend a minimum of 2 training per week (physical training or team training)

    Job Qualifications:

    • MUST pass a criminal background check
    • MUST be over 18 years old
    • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, physical health, and body mechanics
    • Ability to stay organized
    • Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal skills
    • Desire and capacity to train students of all levels and age
    • Reliable & punctual
    • Preferably 1 years of experience teaching groups in the martial arts or fitness industry(IE: personal training, Summer Camps, Sport coaching)
    • (Martial arts experience is Not required)
    • High School Diploma Required We will only be reviewing applicants that submit a resume.
