Professor - Liberal Arts provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Liberal Arts typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Artistic Director for Dixon After Hours
(our performing arts after school or summer program)
The Artistic Director will provide the overall vision for our after-school program while working with our students to promote a life-long love of the theatre through dance, music, acting and arts courses throughout the year. This is a part time position.
20 hrs./wk. 26-32 weeks per year ($30-$35/hr.)
· Develop and implement artistic vision and focus of DAH, an after school musical theatre program for student ages 6-14 at Dixon School of Arts & Sciences
· Work with Performing Arts Academy staff and students to ensure quality of program and coverage of all academic/artistic goals set for students.
· Work with Principal and Board Oversite Committee to ensure mission and realize goals for artistic excellence, community service, education, fundraising, financial stability, program longevity/overall success.
· Provides oversite for the DAH performing arts program on an annual basis including the following:
* Develop a Broadway style musical production at the end of both Spring and fall program.
Responsibilities include:
1. Recruits, oversees & mentors artistic personnel including directors, teachers, production staff
2. Designs, implements and evaluates workshops and classes in theater disciplines including but not limited to dance, voice, acting and art/tech theatre
3. Works with Administration to develop production budgets and marketing strategies for Board approval.
4. Acts as spokesperson for DAH in local community and fundraising events & solicitations.
5. Fosters the development of good relations with other cultural organizations such as theatres, local student programing, etc. to ensure cross-promotional opportunities for our program and students.
6. Responsible for maintaining written procedures for academic and production staff.
7. Oversees auditions and casting related activities.
8. Works with school administration & Board committees to select plays for the year
9. Oversees the scheduling of calendar year, season productions, auditions, workshops & special events.
10. Responsible for oversite and assigning staff responsibilities each day to ensure that students are provided an after-school snack, dressing out for class, pre-class circle time for updates and team building.
11. Responsible for communicating schedule, assignments, etc. to all teaching staff at least one week in advance of class time. Maintaining high quality relations/staff list for DAH program including options for back-up/substitute teaching staff.
