Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Nursing typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of nursing operations within the organization
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, including training and development
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication
- Monitor and evaluate nursing performance to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of practice
- Participate in strategic planning and goal setting for the nursing department
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, and other departments
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and hospice care systems
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Proficient in shift management and scheduling to ensure adequate staffing levels
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure situations

- Experience in home health or similar healthcare settings is preferred
