NOW HIRING: Hardworking and warm-hearted postdoctoral fellow with a knack for evidence-based therapy.
What’s the catch?
Let’s get the bad news out of the way. We are serious about being the best group of providers in South Florida and everyone on staff is held to the highest of professional standards. If you are someone who feels they’ve mastered all there is to learn in this career, this job isn’t going to be a fit for you. If you are seeking a lot of autonomy without any accountability, it might feel like our practice is obsessed with data, outcomes, mission, and learning. Dream teams come from dream requirements. This job isn’t for everyone.
Now to the good news.
First, not only are we dedicated to being the best providers for our clients, The Psychology Group is also fiercely committed to being the BEST place to work. We value humor, fun, and kindness. Therapists who believe solo practice feels a bit lonely and/or daunting, are the ones who most appreciate the camaraderie and support that our practice enjoys. There is tremendous trust among team members and leadership; we count on each other and enthusiastically lift each other up. Our practice is a safe place to give and receive feedback, learn, and grow. Think: high expectations balanced with humanity.
Each Friday, we meet as a team. During these weekly team meetings, we either have case consultations, training in evidence based practices, brainstorm new & fresh ideas, discuss charitable contributions, and/or work on social media/blog posts. Every month and quarter, we analyze our data/outcomes, course-correct where needed, and proudly celebrate wins. Frequently, the staff is surprised with parties, games, food, and gifts. We see these types of activities as fuel in our productivity gas tanks.
Second, our unique business model allows us to make a meaningful impact in our community. By being a predominately self-pay practice, we can bypass the restrictive limitations and burdensome red tape that an insurance-based practice is tethered to. We are able to collect fair compensation for our work while reserving several spots for marginalized/underserved folx in the community. In fact, 20% of our clients receive our scholarship stipend and/or have a reduced rate for services. This model allows us to remain energized, passionate, AND serve those with limited access to therapy. Insurance coverage does not equal access to care.
Our Why
What we think about our team members is simple. They're family.
We may not be able to compete with the latitude of a 100% remote job. And the salary may not fund your yacht wax and jet fuel. But what we can guarantee is that we genuinely want to enrich the lives of our team members. The bedrock of our company culture rests on the core belief that employees are a company’s most precious asset. You will be valued, respected, and listened to.
There is a significant amount of flexibility by way of making your own schedule, taking time off when you need it, working from home part of the time, and working with your ideal clients. And there is real opportunity for growth. You will be encouraged to create the career of your dreams whether that’s providing therapy to your ideal clients full-time, or expanding your role to include other tasks and responsibilities beyond the scope of 1:1 therapy.
Our team members are like-minded in that we believe everyone wants to succeed and be engaged in meaningful, purposeful work in a place that’s collaborative, fun, and vision driven. Therefore, we hire to compliment our strengths and counter our weaknesses. The result is a more diverse and stronger team. Our mission is to change the way people think about mental healthcare, both the consumers and its providers.
