Assoc. Professor - Rehabilitation teaches courses in the discipline area of rehabilitation and therapy. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Rehabilitation provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Rehabilitation typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Rehabilitation Technician

  • We are seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic, goal oriented and team player to join our team as a Rehabilitation Technician.

    Rehabilitation Technicians will be working one-on-one and as part of a team with rehabilitation patients in our in-patient subacute facility. Candidate will be exposed to the latest rehabilitation approaches and equipment, providing an excellent opportunity for those pursuing direct patient care and/or physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech language pathology.

    Candidates with a strong desire to work along side a team providing patient care are strongly encouraged to apply. Training will be provided.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Assisting the DOR and Rehab Team members with assigned tasks, demonstrating safe and appropriate work practices that will facilitate the work flow of the Rehab Department.
    • Promoteing Carerite Center’s reputation as an unparalleled provider of rehab to the elderly by demonstrating professionalism at all times.

    Involved in support duties as assigned: This includes but is not limited to:

    • Changing linen, cleaning, and straightening up treatment areas.
    • Maintaining cleanliness of equipment and supplies.
    • Performing clerical duties as assigned including copying, faxing, and filing.
    • Assist therapists in scheduling patients.
    • Transportation of patients to and from rehab gym
    • Set up treatment of patient or area as instructed by therapist
    • Provide hands on assist with therapist if needed for safety
    • Assist with group set-up, as instructed by the therapist

    • Demonstrates safe working practices. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Identifies and corrects safety hazards or notifies the facility or the Director of Rehab so that safety hazards will be immediately remedied.
    • Maintains work areas in safe and orderly fashion.
    • Maintains equipment in safe working order.
    • Uses proper body mechanics during support activities.
    • Uses universal safety precautions.
    • Wears safety equipment, PPE as appropriate (i.e. gowns, masks, goggles, gait belts, gloves, etc.).

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
    • Strong verbal, written communication and organizational skills, required.

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to lift and transfer patients to and from all surfaces a minimum of 10 times per day.
    • Must be able to lift approximately 50-70 pounds a minimum of 10 times per day.
    • Must be proficient with use of hands for repetitive grasping, pushing-pulling, and fine motor manipulation.
    • Rehab Technician will spend approximately 60-80% of time bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching while working with therapy patients
    • Rehab Technician may spend approximately 60-80% of time standing/walking.
    • Rehab Technician should be knowledgeable in and exercise good body mechanics during patient treatment.
