Evening Aurora Guide - August 2023
We are looking for a winter aurora guide, with a start date for training in late August 2023.
The Evening Aurora guide conducts two different tours: Our "Homestead Aurora" tour departs Fairbanks at 9:00pm, ground tours 60 miles north of Fairbanks to our venue on the Elliott Highway, and returns to Fairbanks between 4:00 and 5:00am; the "Yukon River Aurora" tour departs Fairbanks at 6:00pm, ground tours 140 miles north to the Yukon River crossing of the Dalton Highway, departing the Yukon River Camp the following morning at 10am and returning to Fairbanks around 2pm.

Our 120 hour vehicle operator training program will begin as soon as our guide position is recruited - with flexibility to work training around a new coworker's own schedule.
Tour Guide Schedule:
Evening Aurora Guide position: October 1st through April 21st with Class B CDL training beginning in Sept 2023.
3 to 5 days per week
8 - 9 hours per evening (7:30 pm to 4:30am and sometimes later depending on road/weather conditions)
8 to 32 hours per week [dependent upon full time or part time status]
Wage:
$19.00 / hour season completion bonus gratuities
HOUSING MAY BE AVAILABLE, with a wage of $16.00 (housing is part of compensation package.
Requirements:
Professional Vehicle Operator Training for this position begins in late August of 2023. Applicant does not need to hold a commercial driver's license; we will train applicant to receive a Class B commercial CDL with air brakes and passenger endorsements. Must be able to attain a DOT Medical card.
Guide candidates must be 21 years of age and hold a clean driving record.
