Assoc. Professor - Social Work teaches courses in the discipline area of social work. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Social Work provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Social Work typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintaining and/or improving resident’s ability to control everyday physical needs and mental/psychosocial needs
Identifying individual social and emotional needs
Developing and maintaining individualized care plans
Participating in the planning of the resident’s admission, community re-entry or transfer to another facility
Participating in interdisciplinary care plan meetings to ensure treatment of the social and emotional needs of the resident
Work with the finance team to ensure resident is educated and the proper documents are in place for the resident during their stay
Work with the resident on discharge and get necessary DME or home care in place so that the resident is safe when they return to the community
Qualifications/Requirements:
LMSW
At least one year experience in nursing home Social Work field required
Experience in long term care and/or sub-acute setting strongly preferred
