Appointments are made on a term-by-term basis. Adjunct faculty are required to successfully complete an online Canvas LMS orientation course before being scheduled, as well as other training if required by the department. This is an on-site blended/hybrid course, students attend class in person 60% of the time and complete the remaining 40% online through Park’s Canvas Learning Management System. Local applicants only.
A background check and government security clearance will be required to get on base.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's in Sociology or 18 graduate credits in courses specifically designated as Sociology.
SO141 Introduction to Sociology
An examination of the social processes and structures of society, with particular attention to American Society. Reviews such topics as interpersonal interaction, culture, major social institutions, inequality, deviance and social change. Also introduces methods used in sociological research.
SO141 Introduction to Sociology: This is a Writing Intensive course, instructor approval is contingent on both department review and successful completion of a 4-week online workshop. The certification is conducted through Canvas with a live instructor that focuses on pedagogical techniques for teaching writing and using writing to teach content that are supported by research in writing across the curriculum/writing in the disciplines.
SO206 Social Issues in Contemporary Society
This course is a study of contemporary social issues using a sociological perspective. It examines social problems that occur in society and uses social theory and research methods to gain insight into the interaction of inequality with various elements in that society. These components include the nature, level, consequences and prospective resolutions surrounding social problems in the United States and globally.
