    The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis (ELPA) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison) is seeking two (2) tenure-track faculty colleagues who have established records as exemplary scholars focused on how institutions of higher education can work to ameliorate structural inequality and create organizational and policy change for equity. More specifically, we welcome applications from colleagues whose scholarship and teaching address structural inequalities in postsecondary education, addressing at least one of the following areas including, but not limited to: higher education organization and administration (organizations, governance, or leadership); higher education policy (federal, state, or institutional levels; diversity and equity in policy making and implementation); higher education law/legal studies. We seek candidates with strong expertise and experience using critical approaches toward quantitative, mixed, and/or multi-methods, and/or policy/legal studies. We additionally seek colleagues who are highly collaborative and collegial, who have a demonstrated record of positive advising and mentoring practices with graduate students, and who strongly exhibit dedication to advancing educational opportunity and equity in higher education. The candidate should have a successful external funding portfolio for research.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Conduct exemplary research that leads to the cultivation of promising ideas and publications in major scholarly outlets, as well as a successful external funding portfolio for research.

    2. Teach core and graduate-level courses in the Higher Education Program and the ELPA department for higher education scholars, leaders, practitioners, and policymakers. (Example courses include, but are not limited to: Organizational Theory and Behavior in Education, Governance and Administration of Colleges and Universities, Politics of Education, Financing Postsecondary Education, Legal Aspects of Higher Education, and relevant methods courses.)

    3. Advise and mentor graduate students, including chairing and serving on doctoral dissertation committees.

    4. Work collaboratively with departmental staff, students, and faculty to contribute to the growth and quality of the Higher Education Program as well as the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.

    5. Engage in service responsibilities associated with departmental and university membership.

    6. Inform and enrich state policy development in alignment with the Wisconsin Idea.
