    • Good organizational, communication, and technology skills

    • The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment by the interlocal.


    SUPERVISED AND EVALUATED BY:
    Director, Assistant Director, Education Coordinator, or designee.


    SCHEDULED REVIEW:
    As per the ONTPA contract and ONTPA evaluation plan.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    The school psychologist will be responsible for conducting psychoeducational evaluations on students referred in compliance with federal and state laws. The school psychologist will be actively involved with school personnel in addressing the needs of all students. The school psychologist will monitor special education programs in their assigned buildings, attend conferences, and work collaboratively to meet the student’s needs.


    Employee in the performance of the assigned duties shall:


    Evaluations:


    • Conduct initial evaluations within state timelines and assist in determining eligibility for special education services.
    • Conduct re-evaluations of students currently enrolled in special education programs, as deemed appropriate by case conference decision or requested by parents or school personnel.
    • Conduct evaluations at the request of the Director, Assistant Director of Special Education, or designee.
    • Obtain released for information and request information. Communicate with community agencies, hospitals, doctors, etc., to obtain background and/or current information, as needed.
    • Prepare a written report for each student tested with reason for referral, social and developmental history, psychoeducational test results, date interpretation, summary and recommendations. Reports should be completed, and copies provided for the case conference committee.
    • Participate as an active member of the Case Conference Committee and the multidisciplinary team. Present and interpret testing date to parents and school personnel. Explain testing date, which may be received from another agency/school. Propose recommendations.
    • Participate in the development, implementation, and follow up of individual education plans for students.
    • Support and assist parents in understanding the educational, emotional and social needs of their child in regard to his/her disability and school services.
    • Participate in Annual Case Reviews and transition plan development, as needed.


    Collaboration with Schools:


    • Participate, assist, monitor and/or collaborate on response to intervention plans. Provide pre-referral assistance, techniques, materials, activities, etc. to school personnel, as needed.
    • Participate in the development, implementation, and follow-up of intervention plans for special education students. Provide assistance, techniques, materials, activities, etc., to school personnel, as needed.
    • Serve as a consultant to school personnel on federal and state regulations/mandates.
    • Promote a positive working relationship between the parents, schools and the special education cooperative.


    Job Responsibilities include:


    • Work collaboratively with assigned Education Coordinator and school personnel.
    • Become a collaborative team member in providing comprehensive multidisciplinary team evaluations to students PK-12 to inform eligibility, service, and programming decisions.
    • Participate in Case Conference Committee meetings to interpret evaluation results and assist the committee in determining eligibility and appropriate educational programming.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of universal screeners, diagnostic tools, and progress monitoring for behavior and academics.
    • Assist with the creating of FBAs, BIPs and model appropriate interventions as necessary.
    • Provide training and support as necessary on behavioral management, the academic referral process, and/or the learning, social emotional, and behavioral needs of referred students as well as those involved in the RTI process.
    • Maintain compliance with the requirements of Article 7, IDEA and other applicable regulations.
    • Participate in regularly scheduled meetings within ONT.
    • Participate in professional organizations and training programs in order to stay current with trends, issues, legislation, research, litigations, materials, and information pertaining to special education and evaluations.
    • Review Medicaid referrals.
    • Follow ONT procedures when completing paperwork and forms.

    • Attend in-services to keep abreast of current trends and practices in school psychology and special education.

    • Inventory test materials and protocols in the spring. Complete purchase orders to request new/additional materials by the first of June.
    • Assume all other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate to the operations of Old National Trail Special Services Interlocal and as may be assigned by the Director, Assistant Director of Special Education, or designee.
