Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-year experience with demonstrated success in nursing home or other related health care setting. Will be knowledgeable of clinical policies and procedures, insurance verification and authorization process, and of rules and regulations pertaining to long term care.
Job Descriptions and Duties:
· Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the overall operation of the Admissions department, as well as its programs and activities, in order to meet occupancy goals while also maintaining compliance with current state and federal regulations.
· Builds and maintain a positive relationship with referral sources, community members, and family members.
· Participate in an open and collaborative relationship with the business office and clinical team, working toward shared facility goals for occupancy, care, and collections.
· Review all referrals, update referral status, verify all insurances and start authorizations as necessary.
· Communicate with referral sources regarding referral status and any additional information needed.
· Communicate with residents and family members to complete admissions paperwork and provide that continuum of care.
· Maintain a working knowledge of the facility’s practices related to payor contracts and hospital contracts.
· Process referrals in a timely manner according to facility guidelines.
· Successfully execute occupancy growth initiatives and plans.
· Participate in facility assessment activities as needed and collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary team, physicians, consultants, and community agencies to identify and resolve issues that improve the admissions process.
· Perform monthly census growth initiatives with referral sources and participate in health fairs, community events, and other marketing events.
· Perform onsite visits as needed with the clinical team and visit hospitalized patients.
