POSITION SUMMARY
The Admissions and Marketing Director is responsible for overseeing the admissions process at a skilled nursing center in partnership with the Administrator and Director of Nursing Services (DNS).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Establishes and maintains professional relationships with community members, hospital leadership, discharge coordinators, caseworkers, physicians, senior living communities, senior centers, and all other admission sources to generate consistent admissions and repeat referral sources.
2. Acts as the initial contact for health care discharge planners, families, and other responsible parties to respond to admissions referrals. Promptly responds to all referrals and inquires. May require responding after hours and on weekends.
3. Facilitates daily communication with discharger planners and community representatives to assess needs of prospective patient and manage the admissions process.
4. Screens and reviews potential admissions. Collaborates with the clinical team to identify care goals to ensure that adequate resources, environments, and services can be provided to prospective patients. Provides resources for alternative placement when necessary.
5. Works with Administrator, DNS, and regional leadership in decision making process for admissions. Exercises ethical and sound decision making in carrying out the admissions work of the center.
6. Partners with the Administrator and DNS to ensure that personnel are available to maintain the highest practicable level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being for the prospective patient and meets the state and federal regulations for staffing.
7. Coordinates the admission process of each new patient including initial screening, admission paperwork, communicating with all departments to prepare for new admission, and ensuring patient room is ready before the patient arrives.
8. Completes required admission paperwork with the patient and/or patient’s agent. Communicates admission information orally and in writing to the admissions team
9. Develops and implements programsto promote the center to community hospitals and agencies in accordance with Prestige marketing plans and as recommended by the regional team.
10. Provides tours to prospective patients and patient’s agent. Highlights service offerings and differentiators.
11. Manages the admission department budget in partnership with the Administrator.
12. Participates as part of the leadership team by actively contributing with problem solving, decision making, center and company-wide initiatives, and attending leadership team meetings. 13. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in skilled nursing or hospital setting. Excellent written and
oral communication skills. Individual must be a team player, well organized, self-motivated, and
flexible. Experience with admission coordination, marketing plans, and public relations preferred.
EDUCATION
Associates Degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience.
