Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of Arts and Sciences. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Yeshiva University, the flagship Jewish University, seeks an experienced, innovative, and mission-aligned Dean of the Undergraduate Liberal Arts and Sciences Colleges, Stern College for Women and Yeshiva College (for men). These undergraduate Colleges pride themselves on academic excellence, the creation of new knowledge, student success, as well as the elevation of truth, justice, and individual character. They are recognized locally and nationally for their formidable focus on the spiritual, ethical, and leadership development of students. The Colleges offer 30 undergraduate programs and 17 pathway programs that allow students to begin graduate education while still undergraduates. The Colleges employ 238 faculty, 120 full-time and 118 part-time. The student-to-faculty ratio is 7:1. The Colleges' student outcomes are outstanding. For example, in 2023, 100% of Stern College students who applied to medical school were accepted, 100% of Stern College students who applied to dental school were accepted, and 99% of Stern College students who applied to graduate schools were accepted. In addition, graduates of the Colleges are recruited by the best high-tech firms and business enterprises, and 97% of the 2022 graduating class had clear plans six months after graduation. The next Dean will be responsible for the management of the Colleges, academically, fiscally, and administratively, bringing academic vision, administrative experience, financial expertise, and a profound commitment to the mission of Yeshiva University. The successful candidate will value the Colleges' distinctive educational curricula, develop new academic programs where appropriate, embrace the University's core Torah values, support the Colleges' first-class faculty and their highly accomplished students, and work collaboratively with staff and with community leaders. The next Dean will have experience working productively within shared governance. He or she will play a critical role in budget planning, resource development, and assessment of student learning. Reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the next Dean will lead the undergraduate Colleges to their next stage of development and work collaboratively with Yeshiva University's Institutional Advancement professionals, contributing to the University's Rise Up fundraising campaign. The successful candidate for this position will advocate for the undergraduate Colleges, foster a culture of fairness and transparency, and demonstrate principled behavior. The next Dean should have superb interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to both Torah and secular education. He or she should be an entrepreneurial and fair-minded advocate for the liberal arts who will lead the Colleges in managing aspirations with finite resources while thinking creatively about opportunities to grow the undergraduate Colleges. |

Candidates should have an earned doctorate and a distinguished record of at least eight years in academic leadership positions and research or scholarly accomplishments that are commensurate with the rank of full professor. |
