Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of Arts and Sciences. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • The Assistant Dean for Development, College of Humanities and Social Sciences is the chief advancement officer for UC Riverside's College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHASS). Under the leadership of the Sr. Executive Director, Constituency Programs, Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, Extension, and Athletics, and in close collaboration with the Dean of CHASS, the Assistant Dean will develop and execute long- and short-term strategies to grow CHASS's philanthropic pipeline and secure annual and major gifts that will benefit endowments, research programs, and student success. The Assistant Dean will identify and manage approximately 150 individual donors and will travel locally and statewide frequently for qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship purposes. The Assistant Dean will arrange appropriate opportunities for key faculty and academic leadership to meet with prospective donors and will work collaboratively with other University Advancement colleagues to achieve fundraising goals.

    This is a three-year, renewable contract position that includes the same employee benefits afforded career employees.

    The full salary range for the Assistant Dean for Development, College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHASS) is $107,200 - $207,200 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is up to $145,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

    Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California Vaccination Program Policy.
