    Reporting directly to the President, the Dean of the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences will lead efforts to continue in the school's tradition of innovative teaching, learning, research, scholarship, and patient/client-centered care. The Dean will lead multidisciplinary efforts to cooperate with community organizations and systems delivering direct patient care. The integration of the programs of the school into a practical and impactful contributor to the community's health is an important goal for the new Dean. The Dean will oversee the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), the Master of Science in Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling (MSGC), the Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MSPA), the Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD), and the Masters of Science in Community Medicine (MSCM) programs housed within the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

    Education and Experience:
    Must possess an MD or DO, as well as current licensure and board certification. The successful candidate will have prior administrative experience in an academic setting, a demonstrated capacity for leadership, a record of working with various healthcare professionals, the ability and passion for working with teams of diverse backgrounds and skills, and a commitment to the clinical care of communities of need. At some level and depending on commitments, continued clinical practice is possible.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

    Provide strategic direction for the continued innovative and successful education of pharmacy, genetic counseling, physician assistants, occupational therapists, community medicine professionals, and other health sciences students.
    Provide leadership and work towards integrating the programs in the school with health care clinics and systems to enhance the professional missions of the school and the individual programs.
    Promote innovative pedagogy and engage in teaching within the integrated team-based learning model.
    Enhance the visibility, status, and reputation of the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences locally and nationally while assuring sustained funding for groundbreaking research.
    Lead fundraising efforts in collaboration with Institutional Development in setting goals, developing strategies, and implementing action plans to meet those goals.
    In collaboration with the Dean, Admissions, and Financial Aid, the Dean will initiate a strategic student recruitment and retention initiative to combat competition from surrounding states and drive the need for innovative approaches to recruit and retain students.
    In collaboration with the Dean of the Riggs School of Applied Life sciences, work to develop campus-wide collaborative opportunities for enhanced programs, budget management, and interprofessional network development.
    Foster a safe and respectful academic environment that attracts, retains, and develops outstanding faculty, administrators, and staff.
    Establish collaborative relationships for inter-professional learning and experiential placements and market the school to potential students, employers, and funders.
    Oversee the development of new health sciences programs within the school.
    Provide executive direction, leadership, and mentorship to all committees and offices in the school.
    Supervise and annually evaluate all Associate Deans and Department Chairs.
    Oversee annual evaluation of all SPHS faculty and staff by Chairs and supervisors.
    Formulate and efficiently manage the school's budget to allocate its resources in the school's and the Institute's best interests.
    Maintain accountability for establishing performance metrics and ensuring that all ACPE, ACOTE, ACGC, and ARC-PA accreditation and curriculum goals are met for the programs.
    Provide data and cooperate in the institutional WASC accreditation and accreditation of any new programs to be developed.
    Be active in professional and community activities, assuming leadership roles and representing the school as appropriate in organizations and committees at the local, state, and national levels.

    Proven ability to manage a complex academic enterprise, typically obtained through experience as a dean, associate dean, assistant Dean, or department chair within a school of medicine, pharmacy, or other health sciences.
    Experience in multidisciplinary health care delivery and a commitment to serving the community's needs.
    Ability to inspire the school community and articulate a clear vision that showcases the school's strengths while developing new levels of excellence.
    Ability and motivation to collaborate with colleagues across KGI to develop, implement, and enhance inter-professional education, service, and research programs.
    Proven success in fundraising.
    Ability to build consensus and proactively manage conflicts.
    Innovative and entrepreneurial.
    Initiation, implementation, and management of programs for recruiting and admitting qualified students.
    Experience leading, overseeing, or contributing to diversity and inclusion efforts in a previous position.

    Physical and Mental Requirements:
