Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of Arts and Sciences. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     The Dean of Students Coordinator will assist the Assistant Dean of Students for Conduct and Case Management in meeting and fulfilling departmental mission, values, and goals. This position will provide administrative support by creating, collaborating and conceptualizing educational material that CCA Community members can engage with via the CCA portal.

    This position is designated a remote first but may be expected to participate in on campus activities such as Welcome Week, tabling events, or in other circumstances related to the responsibilities listed below.

    This position is a part-time (20 hours/week) temporary position, with an anticipated end date of May 15, 2023.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Administrative Responsibilities - 100%
    • Meeting with the Assistant Dean of Students for Conduct & Case Management on an ongoing basis
    • Serve as a member of the Dean of Students' Office as a formal and informal administrative hearing officer in non-academic conduct cases
    • Under the direction of Assistant Dean, investigate, evaluate, and adjudicate complaints and allegations of violations of the student code of conduct.
    • Prepare notification of hearing outcome letters and track compliance with sanctions.
    • Create, assign, schedule and provide follow-up to student conduct cases
    • Assist with the development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of the student code of conduct program
    • Serve as a resource on College conduct matters for students, faculty, staff, and the community.
    • Provide support, training, and coordination for members of the Office of the Dean of Students.
    • Conduct programs and training sessions regarding the student code of conduct and other related topics as needed.
    • Assist with outreach, training, and educational workshops to all campus partners, student groups, and others regarding policies, procedures, and best practices in supporting the student code of conduct.
    • Assist with outreach and/or response to CCA CARES cases as needed.
    • Provide input in the development of departmental goals and strategies.
    • Stay current on trends, education, professional best practices in order to develop new and improved programming.
    • Apply knowledge of federal, state, and College laws, regulations, policies and procedures related to and or associated with our area of expertise. Such as Clery, Title IX, FERPA, etc.
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    • Must have a Bachelor's degree

    • Generate ideas and bring them to fruition
    • Must be able to take direction and communicate efficiently with others
    • Must be able to prioritize, multitask, and meet tight deadlines

The job responsibilities of this position may require time regularly spent on campus, and therefore the incumbent will be asked to follow the CCA vaccination requirement, unless an exemption is approved.     COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
    • The compensation for the position is $26/hour.
    • CCA offers a comprehensive benefits package, including the choice of five medical plans, generous holiday, sick & vacation time, a retirement match and tuition remission. CCA covers an average of 91% of the medical plan cost for the employee only and an average of 82% for employees with dependents.     POSITION DETAILS:
    • CCA considers a full-time work week to be 37.5 hours per week.
    • Schedule: Monday - Friday between regular business hours of 9am-5pm with some exceptions to weekends and a commitment to 5-10 hours a week on campus.
    • Work mode: Remote first
    • This position is covered under the staff union collective bargaining agreement and will be required to contribute to union dues/agency fees.
