Associate Dean of Business assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of business. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Business provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Business typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Business typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Job Summary
This
position provides administrative support to the MEC K-12, teacher and public
educational programs and the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory Summer Field
Program. Assists MEC Director, Associate Director, and Financial Coordinator with
management and coordination of all University policies and procedures as they
pertain to the Center and serves as liaison between this office and other
University departments. The position administers interactions with group
leaders of public programs. The position develops and implements departmental
procedure regarding revenue finances, managing purchasing and credit card
reconciliation, inventory control, travel forms, personnel processes, and
recordkeeping. The position coordinates logistical support of the MEC volunteer
program.
