Communications Associate (Part-time) for the Old Monterey Business Association (OMBA)

The nonprofit OMBA is seeking a Part-time Communications Associate to assist with events, advertising/promotion, outreach and office management. Work will be assigned and supervised by the Executive Director. An ideal candidate will be looking to gain experience in community development and promotion, while expanding their skill set in an ever changing work environment with new challenges and opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Event organization
• Media affairs (releases and outreach)
• Community engagement
• Farmers Market Support
• Data entry and reporting
• Basic Office management and organization

Qualifications / Education:

• Currently pursuing a College degree, or a College graduate (Bachelor or Associate's Degree)
• Interest in events, non-profits, business management, or city and public affairs
• Communicate efficiently and be productive within the time constraints
• Knowledge of basic mobile and desktop programs, apps
• Detail oriented and organized
• Proficient in writing documents and proposals

Requirements:

• 20 - 30 hours per week, 4 - 5 days per week
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds
• Reliable transportation
• Must pass a background check

Compensation:

• Compensation dependent on experience ($20 - $25 per hour)
