Associate Dean of Continuing Education assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Continuing Education provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Miami Dade College, Kendall Campus is now accepting applications for Part-Time Continuing Education Instructor - ESOL. The Adult Education Instructor is responsible for teaching ESOL in the classroom and in the lab up to 25 hours per week. The individual will be part of a collegewide team of Adult Education instructors and assist in developing curriculum, selecting textbooks, software and materials.

    Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Maintains a high quality program of instruction.
    • Works with Recruitment and Retention Specialists to develop best practices and learner oriented strategies to maintain high rates of retention and measurable success.
    • Assists the Program Director in recruiting, training and monitoring part-time instructional personnel and tutors.

    Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution with three (3) years of relevant teaching experience; or Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of relevant teaching experience.
    • Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to use computer applications.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments.
    • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment.
