OVERVIEW
Mental Health America of the MidSouth (MHA) is a 75-year-old nonprofit that promotes mental health and wellness through education, advocacy, and service. Current programs focus on mental health education, suicide prevention, anti-bullying, Alzheimer’s support, multicultural outreach, screenings, referrals, and more.
MHA is hiring an Education and Content Director to plan and implement multidisciplinary continuing education workshops for professionals, train external stakeholders in evidence-based and clinically sound principles, manage our online learning portal, and connect the agency with external partners. The Director will supervise agency programs that provide education and support services to the community. The Director will also be responsible for ensuring all program content is current, clinically sound, and appropriate for community education and/or continuing education licensure level.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist staff in recording presentations, evaluate content, and place them onto our online learning platform for the appropriate target audience (LearnWorlds);
· Utilize MHA’s online learning platform to create an online training portal for MHA’s internal staff;
· Prepare and maintain multidisciplinary continuing education applications and support documentation per board requirements;
· Lead in the planning and implementation of 4-6 annual professional conferences (i.e., Mental Health Law, Professional Ethics, Aging & Behavioral Health, etc.), with support from other MHA staff;
· Responsible for leading outreach efforts to secure top-tier conference speakers and plan mental health trainings in the community;
· Revise internal presentations for continuity, ensuring content is clinically sound, relevant, and appropriate for the intended audience;
· Develop and implement needs assessments and community surveys for content relevance in conjunction with the Director of Grants and Evaluation;
· Strategically marketing live and self-paced learning opportunities to professionals across the country in collaboration with the Media and Marketing Manager;
· Develop and market Train the Trainer self-paced courses to train professionals in MHA programs and curricula for sustainability;
· Secure contracts and MOUs with speakers and agency contractors, following agency policy;
· Prepare monthly reports and recommendations that will be shared to organizational leadership;
· Review all MHA program presentations and other content for clinical accuracy;
· Supervise other program staff that focus heavily on public health and education, ensuring grant outcomes are being met in a timely manner;
· Providing support for program growth, encouraging staff strengths and leveraging opportunities for expansion in alignment with organizational goals;
· Providing guidance and supervision to interns;
· Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
· Must be a mental health professional with a Master’s degree in a mental health related discipline, preferably a LMSW or LCSW.
· Must have a minimum of three (3) years of management experience supervising staff.
· Prefer a minimum of three (3) years recent clinical experience.
· Must have experience in professional writing, copywriting, and/or editing.
· Ability to facilitate group discussion and present on stage to a large audience.
· Preferred experience in community outreach and conference/event organization.
· Experience in public speaking, adult education, or focus group facilitation.
· Preferred experience with online learning, website design, graphic design, and/or video editing.
· Ability to travel throughout Middle and West Tennessee with a reliable vehicle and proof of liability insurance (less than 10% travel expected).
· Experience in tracking outcomes, setting up trainings, coordinating multiple activities, and developing new and innovative programs.
· Must be able to motivate others, work as a team member, value cultural differences, resolve conflicts, and display genuine empathy.
· Excellent interpersonal skills to establish immediate rapport with CEOs, VPs, HR Directors, union leaders, mid-level managers, manufacturing employees, grassroots workers, etc.
· Proficient in MS Office, Canva, Eventbrite, etc.
· Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently on projects.
· Able to work occasional (rare) nights or weekends.
SALARY, BENEFITS, AND APPLICATION
This salary range for this position is $60,000-$70,000 annually and is based on experience/degree and is to be paid semi-monthly. This position is full-time.
