Associate Dean of Continuing Education jobs in Queens Village, NY
Associate Dean of Continuing Education assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Continuing Education provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The Office of Continuing Education and Workforce Development at Queensborough Community College seeks a part-time instructor for its summer PSAT and SHSAT (New York City Specialized High School Admissions Test) prep programs.
Ideal candidates will have strong knowledge of both test formats and, content, and familiarity with the SHSAT admissions process. Applicants should also have some experience teaching test-taking strategies to middle- and high school students in the core academic areas assessed in the exams. For the PSAT Prep class, this would be writing, math, and evidence-based reading. For the SHSAT Prep class, this is ELA and math.
A bachelor’s degree is required, and a master’s degree and teaching license would be a plus.
$40-$45 per hour.
