Associate Dean of Education assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of education. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Education provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Education typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Education typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Savannah Technical College is seeking a Dean of Adult Education. This full-time, exempt position is responsible for the Adult Education program and will report to the Vice President of Economic Development. Under minimal supervision, establishes adult education programs for area individuals and employers at multiple site locations. Plans and organizes that unit's work to meet the college's goals. Administers instructional services for Adult Education students. Promotes the Adult Education Program to public and private organizations throughout the Service Area (SDA), consisting of Effingham, Chatham, Bryan, and Liberty Counties. Reviews and approves the request for supplies and materials. Prepares the specifications and budget for the program. Oversees the administration of assessment and student placement tests for Adult Education students. Represents the department at various internal and external meetings. Maintains or oversees the maintenance of student records. Supervises subordinate employees. Creates and maintains a high performance environment characterized by positive leadership and strong team orientation.

Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, and walking. The employee frequently bends, lifts and carries lightweight objects up to 25 pounds. Full range of hand and finger motion is required for data entry purposes.
