Associate Dean of Engineering assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of engineering. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Engineering provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Engineering typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Engineering typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Hutchins Engineering PLLC is currently seeking a Civil Engineering CAD Technician to join our team. We are a Civil Engineering firm based in Queensbury, NY. We provide civil engineering and design services for residential & commercial projects including site planning for new builds and remodels, stormwater runoff modelling and mitigation, subdivision planning and design, and water and wastewater system designs. This is an in-office position with no remote work. Hourly rate of pay will be commensurate to candidate experience and qualifications.

    Responsibilites:

    • Prepare and revise technical drawings using AutoCAD software
    • Work with our engineers to produce drawings that meet required specifications
    • Ensure that all drawings are accurate and meet regulatory requirements
    • Maintain a library of standard drawing templates
    • Conduct site field measurements or existing conditions, documentation of existing site soil conditions, monitoring and observation of construction
    • Interact with clients and contractors, or government entities as necessary

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline
    • Proficient in AutoCAD (one year of experience preferred) and Microsoft Office
    • Familiarity with HydroCAD Stormwater modelling a plus

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

    Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
