Associate Dean of Fine Arts assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Fine Arts provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Dean of Students

    Westwind is a tuition free public charter school for students grades 6-8. Westwind provides an engaging educational experience that is enhanced by the arts.

    As Dean of Students:

    • You'll work closely with the Principal and Superintendent to establish a positive, achievement-oriented, and culturally responsive school culture.
    • You'll demonstrate mastery of our instructional taxonomy to model behavior management best practices for teachers.
    • You'll support teachers in empowering students to meet their full academic and personal potential.
    • You'll navigate behavioral crisis intervention and acute behavioral issues and manage the school-wide behavior plan utilizing culturally responsive techniques.
    • You'll collaborate with teachers, students, and families to create and implement individual behavior plans.
    • You'll manage systems that support school initiatives that lead to academic success for our students (ex., attendance systems and homework systems).
    • You'll be highly present and visible during school hours, constantly ensuring the school has an inclusive and joyful school culture.
    • You'll model the school's values and academic, creative, and personal excellence standards.

    Qualifications

    · Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.

    • Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, strategies, goals, and objectives of public education
    • Ability to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision
    • Exceptional time and task management skills.
    • Ability to persevere despite uncertainty and unexpected obstacles.
    • Relentless drive to empower students academically and personally.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills with students, parents, colleagues, and community members.
    • Ability and desire to implement feedback from school leaders and colleagues.
    • Minimum of two years' experience working in an leadership district or charter school position.
