Associate Dean of Fine Arts assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Fine Arts provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Learning Objectives
Greeting clients, determining their purpose in visiting (information gathering, scheduling, triaging questions and requests for assistance), assisting them in their individual needs. Will serve the campus Liberal Arts office and occasionally the Writing Center, their staff, faculty and students. Will provide the student worker an opportunity to learn the operations of a professional center within the College, learn to complete assigned tasks on time and to assume additional responsibilities. When opportunities arise, the student worker may have interactions with faculty to highlight the techniques and strategies used in their work with students.
Objectives will target verbal and written communication skills, technology and organizational skills.
