Associate Dean of Fine Arts assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Fine Arts provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Position Summary
    The College of Health Sciences invites applications for a position as Associate Dean (Public Health).

    Qualifications

    Minimum Required Education
    • An earned DrPH in Public Health is preferred or a Ph.D. in a Public Health related discipline from a CEPH accredited school or program is required.
    • An earned Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from a CEPH accredited program with a Ph.D. in a related field from a regionally accredited college or university will be considered.

    Minimum Required Experience
    • Must have at least five (5) years academic-related administrative experience and leadership-level experience with regional and professional accreditation (e.g., Council on Education for Public Health).
    • Experience in course development.

    Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications
    Certified in Public Health (CPH) or Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).

    • A sustained record of academic accomplishments (publications in peer-reviewed journals, presentations, competitive research and external funding).
    • A nationally recognized scholar with strong visibility within the public health academic and research community.
    • Established administrative strengths and abilities: constructive problem-solving, commitment to recruitment, retention, and faculty development.
    • A collaborative and accessible leadership style.
    • Commitment to promoting diversity.
    • Mentoring.
    • Effectiveness in interpersonal relations, including the ability to initiate and sustain interdisciplinary collaborations.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with CEPH accreditation and reaffirmation.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and public speaking experience.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities
    • Support Public Health in the development and implementation of the department’s curriculum, policies, and processes.
    • Support a strategic direction that maximizes the contributions of all stakeholders.
    • Display ethical behavior, equity and professionalism to lead others.
    • Develop plans and work collaboratively with the Dean, department chairs and faculty to support the missions, visions, strategic goals and objectives of the University and College.
    • Motivate and support students, faculty, and staff in formulating/achieving their goals and objectives.
    • Recruit and select staff with the knowledge, skills, abilities and motivation to accomplish the goals of the College.
    • Market the University and College in a manner that enhances student enrollment.
    • Develop and implement creative methods/processes for resource acquisitions necessary to advance academic programs and scholarly research.
    • Facilitate systematic review of all department’s course syllabi, policies, forms, and documents.
    • Ensure catalog offerings and student handbooks are current and meet academic requirements.
    • Maintain, oversee, and submit all assessment and accreditation reports, etc..
    • Serve on university, college, and departmental committees.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean.
