Associate Dean of Fine Arts jobs in New London, CT
Associate Dean of Fine Arts assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Fine Arts provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. - Supervises students in assigned out-of-classroom activities during the work day
- Participates in faculty committees and engages in Professional Learning Community activities
- Administers summative assessments in accordance with the curriculum and SDE requirements
- Models professional and ethical practices and behaviors in all activities
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Classroom teaching experience and proven record of high achievement with middle school students preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree from a competitive college or university; Master’s degree a plus.
- Certification: Valid CT Certification (Can be certified in Elementary Education 305, Technology Education 047, Art 042, Science 234. 034, Social Studies 226, 026, English/Language Arts 215, 015, or Mathematics 029)
