Associate Dean of Fine Arts assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Fine Arts provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The Band Tech assists the Band Director with woodwinds, brass, percussion, colorguard or visual needs. Duties include running sectionals, rehearsals, 1 on 1 teaching and anything the Director deems fit for the skills of the Tech. The applicant might need to advise the Director as needed, but follow the Director's expectations, decisions, and example. They must maintain professional demeanor at all times around the students.
