Position Overview:

Minerva Area Christian School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to fill the role of Dean of Students. This position is responsible for providing spiritual, academic, and administrative leadership for our K-8 program. The Dean of Students will report directly to the Administrator and will supervise K-8 teachers, implement curriculum, and maintain effective communication with parents. This is a contracted, exempt position paid on a salaried basis.

Responsibilities:

Spiritual Leadership:

• Demonstrate a commitment to Christian values and philosophy.
• Share faith with students and families.
• Utilize personal beliefs in conversations with staff, students, and families.

Academic Leadership:

• Lead the development of a Christian worldview within the curriculum.
• Evaluate curriculum effectiveness and implement necessary changes.
• Collaborate with Student Services Department to support student learning needs.
• Create a schedule that fosters a Christ-centered environment.

Administrative Leadership:

• Ensure staff are trained and supported to create optimal learning environments.
• Evaluate and improve staff performance when necessary.
• Maintain professional and supportive communication with families.
• Participate in parent/teacher conferences as needed.

Legal Compliance and Governance:

• Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws.
• Keep the Administrator informed on school issues and operations.

Personnel:

• Establish procedures for personnel recruitment, orientation, and evaluation.
• Regularly evaluate staff performance to ensure alignment with the school's vision.

Business and Finances:

• Understand and utilize basic business and financial concepts to meet school needs.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Evaluate curriculum effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
• Provide oversight, evaluation, and support for K-8 teachers.
• Implement standard lesson plan templates to maintain consistency.
• Plan and facilitate professional development opportunities for teachers.
• Evaluate classroom resources and optimize allocation.
• Address classroom management issues and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Provide coverage for classroom teachers when necessary.
• Collaborate with Division Coordinators to ensure resource availability.
• Meet with Administrator to discuss program needs and challenges.
• Monitor assessment results and implement improvement strategies.
• Coordinate with Student Services Coordinator to support student needs.
• Collaborate on daily schedule planning to optimize learning environments.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the Administrator.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• ACSI Administrator Certificate preferred.
• Minimum three years of classroom teaching experience and one year of administration experience.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Agreement with and commitment to the school's Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Statement.
• Enthusiastic, visionary, and self-motivated.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $31,000.00 - $32,000.00 per year
