Associate Dean of Graduate Programs assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of a graduate program. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Graduate Programs provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Graduate Programs typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Graduate Programs typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The Administrative Associate will provide support to the Graduate School Dean\'s office and Director of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs as follows: Provide comprehensive administrative support, demonstrating proficiency with software, high organizational ability, and impeccable attention to detail. Develop, cultivate, and maintain working relationships with internal departments and vendors. Programming and operational support including and not limited to ordering, creating purchase orders and contracts, full event management and logistics, calendar maintenance, et al. Support Deans office activities, operations, and initiatives. Monitor, track, and assist with regular financial activities to support data-based decision-making for and in partnership with departmental leadership. Supports the planning and coordination of special events. Special projects as assigned.
