    The Position:
    The Interim Dean of Global Learning Programs and Services is responsible to the Vice President of Instruction for the administration of the division programs and services, including the International Student program, which includes the University Access Program, Education/Study Abroad Program which also includes the Community Travel Program and Passport Services Office, academic programs and other programs developed in or assigned to the division. The Dean will be joining a leadership team that is expected to uphold values of social justice and equity, and be committed to a "Students First" philosophy, and that is held accountable to a set of "Leadership Standards of Excellence".

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    The duties below are representative of the duties of the position and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed by the incumbent(s) of any particular position.     • Oversee hiring of faculty and classified staff for the division; recommend personnel actions to the Vice President of Instruction; direct and supervise faculty and classified staff and participate in their evaluations
    • Provide leadership, management, and development for the divisions day, evening, and weekend programs, the division office, and other support services
    • Provide leadership and oversight of division programs and operations, including: Education/Study Abroad Program, Passport Services Office, International Student Program, Community Educational Travel, and academic programs as assigned to the division
    • Collaborate with deans and vice presidents in leadership and support of academic/student support programs, learning communities, guided pathways, dual enrollment, and college-wide initiatives
    • Provide leadership and oversight for the International Student Program, including the Global Online Learning Program, University Access Program, international student success on campus, international student admissions, administrative support for international students including SEVIS, and recruiting strategies for growing the program
    • In collaboration with faculty and staff, identify program needs and encourage innovation and the development of curriculum and ensure program and course articulations are kept current
    • Support a variety of methods of program delivery, including in-person, hybrid, hyflex, and online
    • Develop, administer, and advocate for the division budget in a manner that supports the well-being of all departments
    • With faculty and staff, and in collaboration with other instructional administrators, coordinate the preparation of division class schedules, catalogs, brochures, and other printed materials
    • Facilitate grant applications for the division, manage new and existing grants, and prepare required reports
    • Serve as liaison with other college divisions and services, district and sister colleges, advisory committees, individual students and student groups, and appropriate off-campus groups
    • Organize and lead the annual division planning and budgeting process aligned with college goals, mission, vision and values; provide leadership for departmental program reviews
    • Serve as an active member of the college administrative team to address college-wide issues, concerns and planning, including facilities restructuring and development; serve on college and District committees, as assigned
    • Work with students, faculty, and staff to constructively resolve problems and conflicts
    • Implement District rules and regulations, California Education Code, Title 5, and collective bargaining agreements as required
    • Provide leadership in staff and faculty development, including regular division meetings and retreats
    • Collaborate with deans and vice presidents in support of continued integration of student services with instructional services in order to strengthen the delivery of academic and not for credit programs and services
    • Assist in the advancement of the Peoples College Initiative
    • Collaborate with District International Education Office in advancing international education priorities and programs
    • Travel as necessary to support college and District international education programs
    • Serve as key emergency prevention, preparedness, and response personnel as assigned
    • Serve on college and District committees, as assigned, and perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Instruction



    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Possession of a Masters degree or above from an accredited institution OR equivalent
    • One year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrative assignment
    • Successful leadership in developing cultural competence
    • Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff

    • Successful teaching and/or service experience in disciplines/programs and services that are related to global/international issues that are a part of the Global Learning and Program Services Division
    • Evidence of ability to provide leadership that inspires, encourages autonomy, and provides guidance to faculty and staff
    • Evidence of sustained involvement, initiative, and leadership in instructional and community activities
    • Evidence of knowledge of goals, policies, regulations, and methods related to equity, curriculum, assessment, retention, articulation, transfer, and graduation
    • Ability to elicit and coordinate the expressed recommendations from faculty and staff, and ability to advocate effectively the division recommendations and its goals at college and District levels
    • Ability to think innovatively and to recognize, respond to, and encourage faculty and staff innovation
    • Evidence of experience with faculty and staff hiring, training, and supervision, including staff development and performance evaluations
    • Ability to facilitate faculty and staff hiring, training, and supervision, including staff development and performance evaluations
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, and problem solve effectively with District and college administrators, faculty, staff, students, and the public
    • Commitment to the goals of participatory governance

    • Skill in the development, implementation, and assessment of program outcomes that lead to student success

    • Knowledge and experience with SEVIS as required for the management and support of F-1 students
    • Skill and experience in grant writing and management
    • Skill in working with faculty, staff, and administrators to plan and implement facilities modifications

    • Ability to advocate for enhanced and innovative technology systems, locally and District-wide, which support the work of the division and are aligned with the goals of Student Services and Instruction in support of the mission, vision and values of the college

    • Commitment to providing career services and internship opportunities that enhance Skyline College students transition into the 21st century workforce
