    Associate Dean for Student Involvement
    (Administrator II)

    Compensation and Benefits


    Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $9,000 - 11,250 per month

    Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,583 - $14,713 per month

    Salary is competitive and negotiable depending on the strength of qualifications. This is a CSU Management Personnel Plan (MPP) position.

    • Area of consideration is limited to on-campus, state funded employees only.
    • This position is not eligible for remote work pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy requiring that all work be performed within the State of California.

    The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year.     Job Summary

    Under the general direction of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management reporting to the Associate Vice President/Dean of Students, the Associate Dean of for Student Involvement leads the supervision and administration of co-curricular student activities programs, the student union facility and operations, and all associated personnel. The Associate Dean is responsible for creating a comprehensive program that incorporates the service delivery of student development/involvement, leadership and activities programming with the operation of the University Student Union. The Associate Dean also works in consultation with the Associate Vice President for Auxiliary Services and Enterprise Development. The University Student Union Advisory Board, which is composed primarily of students, is advised by the Associate Dean. The University Student Union facilities include office, meeting, dining and retail space.

    • Ability to think strategically and critically, identify needs, initiate action.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and make strategic business decisions.
    • Exercise sound administrative judgment and initiative in the development of new methods and procedures and in the solution of difficult personnel problems.
    • Ability to facilitate group participation, consensus building and foster employee development through coaching, counseling, training.
    • Conduct ongoing analysis and evaluation of operations and systems to enhance processes to meet programmatic goals.

    Education and Experience

    • A Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel, Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration or closely related field is required.
    • Minimum of 7 years professional experience creating, implementing and assessing co-curricular programs in a student activities/programming operation, leadership program.
    • Prior experience supervising multiple and complex cross-functional student programs and/or facilities in a higher education setting.
    • Experience developing and monitoring complex budgets.
    • Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
    • Other related experiences and transferable skills that would facilitate success in this position.

    Department Summary

    The Office of Student Involvement is responsible for Greek letter organizations, student clubs, sports clubs, new student welcome activities, and other campus celebrations. The Office of Student Involvement has a primary objective of increasing opportunities through the Student Leadership and Greek Life programs. The department continues to develop a comprehensive leadership program.
