Associate Dean of Law assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of law. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Law provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Law typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Law typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Associate Dean of Law typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     POSITION DESCRIPTION
    DBL Law is seeking an Litigation Associate Attorney. This position will perform associate level general litigation work and will work on cases which include defending medical malpractice and employment-related claims as well as on commercial disputes. The position is based in our Louisville, Kentucky office.



    JOB DUTIES
    • Draft and prepare legal briefs and pleadings.
    • Work with clients in the preparation of discovery responses.
    • Prepare and argue motions.
    • Perform legal research and writing.
    • Participate in depositions.
    • Prepare trial materials and assist at pretrial, trial, and post-trial proceedings.
    • Multi-task, meet deadlines, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Independently manage cases.
    • Handle various aspects of litigation, such as motion hearings, mediations, and depositions.
    • Respond to administrative charges.
    • Collaborate with partners and other associates to develop and implement case strategy.
    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
    • 1-3 Years of relevant experience.
    • Excellent drafting, writing, and analytical skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects.
    • Outstanding academic record and civil litigation experience, strongly preferred.
    • Must be licensed to practice law in Kentucky and/or Indiana.
