Associate Dean of Law assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of law. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Law provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Law typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Law typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. The position will also include assisting with other duties as assigned by the lead attorney including depositions, mediation sessions and other court proceedings as needed by the firm's attorneys and clients. The position will also include assisting at trial court hearings as needed by the lead attorney for court appearances such as depositions of witnesses or other parties involved in litigation or other matters involving litigation such as mediation sessions or other court proceedings involving mediation as well as other duties as assigned by the lead attorney by assisting at trial court hearings including depositions of witnesses or other parties involved in litigation or other matters involving litigation as well as other duties as assigned by the lead attorney by assisting at trial court hearings including taking notes during sessions and preparing written notes for case files including but not limited to case files for each case that is assigned by the lead attorney including but not limited to: case notes for each case; depositions; motion filings; pleadings; discovery filings; mediation filings; etc., that are related to cases that are assigned by the lead attorney .
