    THIS IS AN IN-PERSON POSITION LOCATED ON THE TAFT COLLEGE CAMPUS.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    Under the direction of the Vice President of Instruction, the Associate Dean of Instruction for Grants, Dual Enrollment Coordination, Student Internships, and Special Projects will provide administrative leadership for grant development and oversight, dual enrollment programs in-district or out-of-district, student internships, and special projects as assigned.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Provide leadership for and facilitate grant fund development for the District including but not limited to researching grant opportunities that fit the District mission. Provide technical assistance for others in the planning, writing, program design, budget development, and submission of grant proposals. Work closely with Deans and VPI to help plan, develop, and implement innovative partnerships with business and industry in the community to foster a supportive economic development environment, including contract and community education. Work with high school districts and other dual enrollment partners to manage and oversee District dual enrollment partnerships. Work closely with the Instruction and Student Services administrators to create and manage student internships. Complete special projects as needed.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty of the position satisfactorily. These duties are representative of tasks performed in this position but not inclusive of all duties of the position.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of enrollment management strategies.
    • Assist and provide leadership for the development of new instructional projects under grants.
    • Analyze a variety of data and statistics and prepare comprehensive reports as necessary; assure submission of required reports.
    • Serve on college councils, task forces, committees and external groups as required to represent the Office of Instruction and to move towards meeting the goals and objectives of the college pertaining to grants; maintain positive and effective public relations with the larger community, and partner colleges.
    • Coordinate management information systems needs for grants; work closely with management information systems staff and administrators to optimize reporting and data management capabilities.
    • Work closely with college administrators in planning, implementation, and evaluation activities to assure that programs are regularly assessed for effectiveness, particularly in terms of student learning outcomes.
    • Orient, train, supervise, advise, and annually evaluate the performance of direct subordinates to assure efficient and effective performance; develop expectations for performance and standards of excellence.
    • Participate in college committees, initiatives, teams or ad hoc groups; be responsible and accountable for completion of assigned tasks when assigned to such a group.
    • Prepare and monitor annual grant budgets within the Office of Instruction; prepare justifications and recommendations; assure maintenance of documentation according to established policies and procedures.
    • Recommend and implement techniques to improve policies and practices to take optimum advantage of grant opportunities and increase efficiencies; maintain current knowledge of state-of-the-art practices and methodologies in assigned functional areas.
    • Assure compliance with a variety of applicable laws, rules, regulations, and requirements related to community college instruction and state and federal grants; analyze, interpret and apply established laws and regulations and District policies in assigned areas of responsibility.
    • Market the District and specific academic programs to the college community and the general public.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of Guided Pathways and/or other college initiatives as needed.
    • Work collaboratively with Student Services personnel on joint projects as assigned.
    • Represent the College at public functions and/or in the community.
    • Serve as the administrative liaison to the District in the creation and management of dual enrollment offerings, both in the district or outside of the District.
    • Work with industry partners and District staff to develop student internship opportunities and oversee student internship participation.
    • Perform related duties as assigned.

    • Assess community needs and develop partnerships and other collaborative relationships with business/industry, government agencies, high schools, college, universities, and other entities.
    • Relate effectively to people of varied academic, cultural and socioeconomic background using tact, diplomacy and courtesy.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • A Master’s degree or the equivalent.
    • One (1) year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience related to the administrative assignment.
    • Demonstrated sensitivity to, and an understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of community college students and employees.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
    The salary range for the position is a Grade 18 on the 2022-2023 Educational Administrator Salary Schedule Salary Schedule, with a range of $105,228-$120,655 per year.

    WORKING CONDITIONS
    Assignments are typically 40 hours per week and 12 months per year. Requires some evenings. May require overtime, holiday, or weekend work to meet deadlines. Work is generally performed indoors but may involve traveling to district or county offices to complete assignments or for research, workshops, training, or meetings.
