Associate Dean of Medicine assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of medicine. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Medicine provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Medicine typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Medicine typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. PRACTICE DESCRIPTION:
• Hybrid position incorporating 10 weeks of hospitalist coverage with 25 weeks of outpatient practice
• Call may be required during 10 weeks of hospitalist coverage
• Join 4 physicians and 4 APPs between the internal medicine and hospitalist programs
• Providers see 15-20 adult patients per day in the internal medicine outpatient clinic
• Providers manage 10-18 patients per day in hospitalist program
CANDIDATE PARAMETERS:
• M.D. or D.O.
• Male or Female
• Any Experience Level
• Excellent communication skills and empathy are required
• Board-Certified (or Board-Eligible for Residents)
• Must have very good to excellent malpractice history with current coverage
• Must not have been a sanctioned party
• When on call, must immediately respond and be at the hospital within 30 minutes
