Associate Dean of Sciences assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of science. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Sciences provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Sciences typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Sciences typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Required Qualifications:
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum qualifications for service as an educational administrator shall be both of the following:
    Possession of a masters degree; AND
    Two years of supervisory leadership experience reasonably related to the administrators essential duties and assignment.

    Desired/Preferred Qualifications:DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
    3-5 years of experience in higher education administration, with a focus on serving rural communities and managing multiple campus sites.
    Demonstrated success in increasing enrollment, persistence, and student success.
    Strong management and operations skills.
    Effectively communicate orally and in writing.
    Work collegially and collaboratively with diverse constituencies, both internal and external.
    Knowledge of ACCJC Accreditation regulations
    Knowledge of California Education Code and Title V
    Knowledge of working with HSI (Hispanic Serving Institutions) colleges.
    Be a strong and articulate proponent of higher education.
    Experience working in a participatory governance environment.

    Physical Demands:
    Range/Step: Range 37, District Management Salary Schedule

    Salary Range: $113,774 - $153,461/Annually (Step 1- 9) Placement will be based on both the candidate's years of related experience and educational qualifications.
