    Position Summary

    Radiology Partners is hiring a Transcription Lead.  The position will report to the Practice Administrator and focuses on ensuring that physician’s dictations are completed correctly and promptly.

    Position Duties and Responsibilities

    • Monitor, evaluates, and makes recommendations for continuous quality improvement.
    • When requested, listens to dictation and offers medical transcriptionists editorial guidance, applying knowledge of English and medical language, style, and practices
    • Processes the monitoring, measuring, and reporting of transcribed documents by transcriptionists and documents reviewed by editors.
    • Assures appropriate staffing for transcription.
    • Ability to transcribe/editor reports
    • Interprets dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals in order to assist the medical transcriptionists with editing and clarification with daily oversight and direction of the medical transcription.
    • Recognizes and removes all discrepancies present in the medical dictation in order to create a flawless transcription
    • Ensuring that the final draft consists all-important details of clinic and patient information thereby preparing a fully-fledged report
    • Knowledge of operating dictation and transcription equipment and troubleshoots problems
    • Acts as a communication link between medical transcriptionists and dictation originators, creating a path for two-way feedback
    • Maintains systems security
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Strong organizational skills with an ability to effectively manage large amounts of detailed information.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including letters, memos, and emails.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Strong training and leadership skills
    • Communicates effectively (both orally and in writing) with administrators, physicians, teammates, and other healthcare personnel when providing information and/or services
    • Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet resources.
    • 3 years of experience as a medical language specialist who can interpret dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals preferred
