Associate Editor - Web jobs in Olympia, WA

The Astorian has an immediate opportunity for an associate editor who wants to join our newsroom management team in leading one of the best local newspapers in the Pacific Northwest.

Located in picturesque Astoria, Oregon, near the junction of the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean, The Astorian is the lead newspaper for EO Media Group's North Coast group that also includes the weekly Chinook Observer, Seaside Signal and Coast Weekend.

The associate editor will partner with the editor to guide news, opinion and feature content, as well as work with the editors of weekly publications.

Some experience at news editing is preferred but not necessary. What's essential is good news judgment, copy editing skill, and meeting deadlines. Creativity should be matched by attention to detail and collaborative energy.

We're located in one of the most beautiful areas of the Pacific Northwest, with small town livability but an abundance of food and drink establishments, arts, entertainment, great healthcare and the perfect location for an outdoor activity.

This is a full-time position averaging 37.5 hours per week, located on-site in our offices close to downtown Astoria, Oregon.
