Associate Financial Aid Director assists in the operation of the financial aid program. Instructs students and parents on the application for loans or scholarships. Being an Associate Financial Aid Director maintains records of scholarships, grants, and other monetary assistance. Has knowledge of available private, state, and federal financial aid programs. Additionally, Associate Financial Aid Director typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to the Financial Aid Director. The Associate Financial Aid Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be an Associate Financial Aid Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Work closely with the Director of Financial Aid in performing and carrying out the functions of the Financial Aid Office.

Qualifications
Knowledge: Bachelor's degree required. Post graduate work preferred. Knowledge of need analysis and verification procedures, financial aid software, knowledge of federal financial aid regulations, mainframe database experience, managerial aptitude.
Experience: 2-3 years experience in financial aid.
Skills/Aptitude: Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to make effective presentations before large groups of students and parents, are required. Knowledge of and sensitivity to issues related to the recruitment and retention of a diverse student body is required. The ability to collect and analyze data, converting it to information that can be communicated to other University personnel, is required. The ability to relate effectively to students, parents, staff, faculty, and administrators is required. Strong organizational and management skills are required. Experience with office applications software, preferably Microsoft Office products, is required. Experience with Ellucian, MDCAPS, NSLDS is required.
Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Some overtime may be required.
